Your View or Mine?
Everyone experiences different realities - even when they are in the same room people will interpret things differently, so the idea of one reality is itself questionable. That's why the mental heath field is an area of constant debate and shifting interpretations.
Psychosis is used mostly in psychiatry and is often relevant when
Psychiatrists are diagnosing patients or prescribing drugs.
We realise this term is used in the Medical Model.
The fact that we use this in our name does
not mean we are not critical of the Medical Model; in fact
Psychiatrist's definition of psychosis may differ from ours.

Psychosis
OUR DEFINITION
We understand the term to mean:
'When someone is experiencing a reality that is different from others around him/her or when someone is experiencing a reality that is different from one they normally believe in.'
Therefore, this would imply that people are
likely to come out of this state at some point.

OUR EXPERIENCES
OF PSYCHOSIS
Some of our trainers have experienced voice hearing and mania, and experienced delusions.
Whilst we were experiencing these, we believed them to be 'the truth' and it is only in hindsight that we are able to see that this reality could be questioned.
"It is never as simple as there is just one 'truth'.
Everyone experiences different realities - even when they are in the same
room people will interpret things differently, so the idea of
one reality is itself questionable.
That's why the mental heath field is an area of constant
debate and shifting interpretations."
there is currently a technical problem with the 'back' / 'forward' tabs in this site browser.
We are hoping to remedy this shortly.
